Broccoli is typically cultivated as an annual vegetable. Its complete growth cycle includes: the vegetative growth stage → transition to reproductive growth → flower bud differentiation → curd formation → harvest period.

If the harvest window is missed, the plant perceives maturity and continues to transport nutrients to the flower head. The main stalk elongates, smaller stalks also extend, and the initially tight flower buds gradually separate, enlarge, and eventually flower, undergo pollination, and produce seeds.

Mechanism of Action of Broccoli Glucoraphanin

• Anticancer: Induces apoptosis in cancer cells, inhibits Phase I enzymes, induces Phase II detoxification enzymes, and promotes the excretion of carcinogens and free radicals. It shows inhibitory effects on cancers such as breast cancer, liver cancer, and colon cancer.
