Dose used
Salicin can be utilized as a successful standard extract of white willow bark. In general, the suggested daily amount of salicin is 60-120mg. Recent research suggests that greater doses, such as 240 mg per day, may be more effective in relieving pain.
Main efficacy
1. Anti-aging
Salicin extract from Salix saliciformis not only influences gene regulation in the skin, but it also influences gene groups associated with the biological process of skin aging. These functional "young gene groups" are named for themselves. Furthermore, salicin plays a crucial function in the development and maintenance of collagen, one of the essential proteins in the skin, resulting in increased skin elasticity and anti-wrinkle impact.
2. Exfoliate
Salicin removes dead skin cells from the skin's surface gently, accelerates the shedding of aged skin cells, regulates the physiological activity of the skin cuticle, and makes the skin smooth and lustrous.
3. Antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and acne removing
Salicin contains anti-inflammatory qualities similar to aspirin and can be used to treat facial acne, herpetic irritation, and sunburn. The experimental investigation used hydrosalicin cosmetics on 30 volunteers aged 16 to 35 years, 15 of whom had oily skin and 15 of whom had mild/moderate acne.
matters needing attention
1. Salicin should be used in a neutral environment. In an acidic environment, salicylin is degraded into salicylic alcohol and oligosaccharide, and salicylic alcohol is further oxidized into salicylic acid.
2. It is not permitted for individuals who are sensitive to salicylic acid.
