Dose used
Salicin can be effectively used as the standard extract of white willow bark. Generally, the recommended intake dose of salicin is 60-120mg per day. However, recent studies have shown that higher intake, such as 240 mg per day, may be more effective in treating pain.
Main efficacy
1. Anti-aging
Salicin extract from Salix saliciformis not only affects the regulation of genes in the skin, but also regulates the gene groups related to the biological process of skin aging. These gene groups are called functional "young gene groups". In addition, salicin plays an important role in the production and maintenance of collagen, one of the key proteins in the skin, so it can increase skin elasticity and achieve anti-wrinkle effect.
2. Exfoliate
Salicin has the effect of gently removing dead skin cells on the skin surface, accelerating the shedding of aging skin cells, regulating the physiological activity of the skin cuticle, and making the skin even and shiny.
3. Antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and acne removing
Salicin has certain anti-inflammatory effects due to its aspirin like properties, and can be used to relieve facial acne, herpetic inflammation and sunburn. The experimental study conducted skin tests on 30 subjects aged 16-35 years, 15 oily skin and 15 mild/moderate acne skin, and conducted skin tests on hydrosalicin cosmetics for 14 days.
matters needing attention
1. It is recommended to use salicin in neutral environment. Salicylin will be decomposed into salicylic alcohol and oligosaccharide in acidic environment, and salicylic alcohol will be further oxidized into salicylic acid.
2. It is forbidden for those who are allergic to salicylic acid.
