1. Raw Material Source Control
Selected lemon balm variety (Melissa officinalis L.) introduced from Italy, cultivated in our contracted planting bases in Yunnan and Shaanxi provinces (China) to ensure varietal purity.
Harvest period is strictly limited to the pre‑flowering stage, when rosmarinic acid content reaches its peak. Each batch of raw material is tested for pesticide residues, heavy metals, and rosmarinic acid content before being accepted into our warehouse. Non‑conforming batches are rejected.
2. Production & Process Control
Low‑temperature water extraction + membrane separation + low‑temperature spray drying is employed, with extraction temperature controlled below 60°C to maximize retention of heat‑sensitive active components such as rosmarinic acid and caffeic acid derivatives.
The entire production process is carried out under controlled conditions, with online monitoring and recording of key process parameters to ensure intra‑batch consistency.
3. Finished Product Testing
Each batch of finished product is tested for key parameters including rosmarinic acid, total polyphenols, moisture, ash, heavy metals, residual solvents, and microbial limits.
4. Batch Stability & Retained Samples
Raw materials from the same harvest season are homogenized through batch blending, with batch‑to‑batch variation controlled within ±5%.
Retained samples of each finished batch are kept for 24 months, with periodic re‑testing of key indicators to ensure quality stability throughout the shelf life. Customers can retrieve raw material sources, production records, and retained sample photos using the batch number.
