Main components of Solomonseal Rhizome Extract
Solomonseal Rhizome Extractt mainly contains polygonatum odoratum polysaccharides a, B, C, polygonatum odoratum oligosaccharides a, B, C and steroidal saponins. It also contains lysine and more than 10 kinds of amino acids such as zinc, iron, selenium, niacin, mucus, starch and quinone.

Pharmacological effects of Solomonseal Rhizome Extractt
1. Role of antiviral agents and microorganisms
In vitro experiments showed that the aqueous extract of polygonatum sibiricum (1 ∶ 320) had inhibitory effects on typhoid bacillus, staphylococcus aureus and acid fast bacillus, and 2% polygonatum sibiricum had inhibitory effects on common pathogenic fungi in Sabouraud's medium.
2. Effect on blood sugar
The content of blood sugar in Solomonseal Rhizome Extract increased first and then decreased. Solomonseal Rhizome Extract has obvious inhibitory effect on hyperglycemia induced by adrenaline.
3. Anti fatigue effect
17.67% Huangjing decoction 0.3ml/mouse intraperitoneal injection can prolong the swimming time of mice.
4. Antioxidation
Huangjing decoction 20%, 13ml/piece, taken for 27 days, increases the activity of liver superoxide dismutase (SOD) and reduces the content of myocardial lipofuscin.

9. Hypolipidemic effect
Compared with the control group, the extracts of petroleum ether, ethanol and water of polygonatum sibiricum decreased the serum TC and TG of male SD rats in varying degrees, and the extracts of ethanol and water significantly decreased the serum TC and TG. The immune enhancement of polygonatum sibiricum could promote the number of hemolytic plaque, the formation rate of rosette and lymphocyte transformation rate in mice.
